Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board Boosts Financial Aid:Important Amendment
Introduction
The Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board has recently enhanced its financial assistance programs for workers and their families. These changes, effective from April 1, 2023, were announced in a revised notification dated March 25, 2023.
Key Changes
Marriage Assistance: The marriage allowance has been increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000. Male workers or their children receive Rs. 3,000, while female workers or their children receive Rs. 5,000.
Accidental Death Assistance: This benefit has been increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000 for workers contributing to the Labour Welfare Fund.
Natural Death Assistance: The assistance for workers’ natural death has been raised from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000.
Eligibility
These changes apply exclusively to workers who contribute to the Labour Welfare Fund. The revised notification was approved by the Governor.
